The Bridge (Xbox One) - Review

The Bridge is available now on the Xbox One and is priced at £7.99.

The Xbox One seems awash with puzzle games right now but does The Bridge stand out amongst them?

Well if you can't tell just from the screenshots, yes it does. This game is really, truly BEAUTIFUL. The levels are all hand drawn in a beautiful black and grey palette and your character is etched into the beginning of every level. The sound affects are amazing too, you can hear the pencil scratching on the paper as the main character comes to life. The music is perfect too, I usually end up turning music down quite low in puzzle games as I play them late at night, but I just couldn't bring myself to do this with The Bridge.

So in The Bridge you use the triggers to rotate the landscape to get to the exit...which sounds really simple. It isn't. There are keys that you'll have to collect to open the locks on the doors and numerous obstacles throughout your time with the game. It's a game that is perfect in its simplicity.

If you enjoy a puzzle game then picking this up is a no brainer. But even if you're not much of a puzzler usually I'd say keep an eye on The Bridge. It really is gorgeous and a dream to play. Yeah it's difficult, but if it wasn't we'd all be moaning about how easy it is. Give it a watch on Twitch or whatever if you're on the fence, but I wholeheartedly recommend it, even at it's full price.

8/10 BUY IT!
